Lent Music Selections Cycle B from MLJ Music

21 02 2012

Greetings,

Below is the entire music line up for Lent at my parish of Resurrection in Winter Garden, FL. Thought it would be easier to post this way than one week at a time. My choir and cantors always receive the list this way, although they know last minute substitutions are always possible (probable! :) ) The numbers are all for the Gather Comprehensive book (Green cover). SS is OCP’s Spirit and Song, SS-2 is Spirit and Song 2. For Lent we are using Janco’s Mass of Wisdom. Our Bishop has asked all parishes to learn it, so we are being good soldiers. I have written a mass setting we have used for a few years, so eventually it will make its way here. A pretty cool gospel setting, I must say. Most of the songs you can find on the MLJ music website if you need tracks or just want to listen.

Thanks again. The intercessions will be in additional posts.

Until next time,

jon

So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.  Matthew 6, 31-33

5th Sunday In Ordinary Time Cycle B

30 01 2012

Greetings all,

Like many parishes, we have different music for a some services.  At Resurrection, I tend to make the Sunday 11:15 a bit more contemporary than the 815 and Saturday 5. If you have not used many contemporary songs, I would suggest starting with one and using it for a while so the congregation gets comfortable with it.

If you like these music suggestions and Intercessions, I believe there is a way to follow this blog (I’m new to this). I will send out mass emails for a few more weeks but will stop so I do not bother the people who are not interested.

Thanks and see you next week,

Jon Sarta
